April 2011 Workshop
The New England Large Format Photography Collective held the April 2011 large format photography workshops beginning Friday April 8 through Sunday April 10.
This year NELFPC hosted Sandy King, the well known photographer, photo historian, and author of The Book of Carbon and Carbro. The first day began with a presentation on digital negative making, and preparing the negatives for carbon printing, followed by a display of some of Sandy's beautiful carbon prints. On day two, we began by sensitizing our carbon tissue and contact printing our negatives under UV light, then continuing with the development process to each create our own carbon print. Each day's work was followed by a print share and the great camaraderie of like minded large format photographers.
The weekend was a great success for all involved, and NELFPC cannot possibly thank Sandy King enough for sharing his time, knowledge, and passion with the group!
